The Tanzania High Commission in Nigeria has stated his country is dedicated to strengthening trade and bilateral ties with Nigeria and other West African nations following the recently held Lagos International Trade Fair.
In a statement, the acting High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to Nigeria, Judica Nagunwa, said Tanzania’s participation in the trade fair which was concluded on November 10 at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, underscores its diplomacy.
Nagunwa was represented by Economic Affairs Officer Edna Sylvester, who emphasised the High Commission’s active role in promoting Tanzania’s economic interests across the continent.
“As part of our economic diplomacy efforts, we participate in international trade fairs to showcase Tanzanian products. Here, we are exhibiting coffee, tea, spices, wine, leather products, and much more,” Nagunwa said.
“We hope to engage potential Nigerian importers interested in sourcing these products from Tanzania. This effort aligns with the AfCFTA Protocols, which encourage intra-African trade. African countries must trade amongst ourselves, as we have all that we need.”
