FG Targets Growth With Agric Sector Overhaul

The federal government has restated its commitment to the growth of the country’s economic prosperity through the transformation of the agriculture sector.

It also announced that the planned agric industrial hubs would reduce post-harvest losses being experienced by farmers nationwide, as well as enhance economic growth.

These commitments were given by the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Agricbusiness Industrial Hubs in Atan-Ijaiye, Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State, recently.

Shettima, who was represented by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, said agricultural industrial hubs would reduce post-harvest losses experienced by farmers nationwide, noting that the government was committed to transforming the agricultural sector of the economy.

The vice president commended the initiative of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration in the agricultural sector and said it was in tandem with the Federal Government ’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“It is a testament to our unwavering commitment to a future where hope is renewed through concrete action, strategic partnerships and inclusive growth.”
