The Federal Government has promised to partner with fashion industry players, especially those in the embroidery sector to boost the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
This was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Industrial Training and Development, Ayinde Adamson, when hosted the embroidery professional, led by Lukman Abdulsalam, in Abuja.
Adamson reiterated the government’s support for the youth especially in industrial training to address their plight.
Also, Abdulsalam charged the youths to undergo embroidery training as a means of not only survival but job creation.
Abulsalam added that embroidery had the potential to scale up Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and deepen the country’s cultural significance, adding that Nigeria can leverage the demand for unique bespoke products globally.
He observed that with the federal government’s support of local artisan, investing in design innovation and exploring new markets Nigeria can unlock the economic potential of embroidery to create more jobs.
Abdulsalam who has struck a partnership with FUTONG, a Chinese company, encouraged several youth in Nigeria to harness the opportunity in giving back to the society, by using the potential in them to generate income and improve the economic values of Nigeria.
