The Federal Ministry of Finance has inaugurated its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit Committee to enhance transparency and accountability within the public service.
This was according to a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Finance, Mohammed Manga, on Monday.
The statement read, “The Federal Ministry of Finance has taken a significant step towards promoting transparency and accountability in the public service with the inauguration of the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit Committee.”
Speaking at the event in Abuja, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Lydia Jafiya, described the initiative as a vital step towards fostering ethical conduct and good governance, according to the statement.
She emphasised that the fight against corruption required a collective effort and called on all staff members to support the committee’s work.
She assured the committee of her full support in achieving its mandate of promoting transparency and ensuring adherence to the rule of law in the Ministry’s activities.
