Regulators and players in the financial services industry are set to x-ray Nigeria’s digital economy at the 2025 Conference of the Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria (FICAN).
Expected to headline the annual conference themed ‘Bracing for the Digital Economy in Nigeria: Taxation, Banking and Finance’ are the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji; the Managing Director of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, Oluwadare Sunday; the Group Managing Director of UBA, Oliver Alawuba; and other industry experts.
According to a statement from FICAN, Alawuba and the Managing Director of Moniepoint Microfinance Bank Limited, Babatunde Olofin, will deliver keynote addresses at the conference, which is scheduled to be held in Lagos.
Both executives are anticipated to share perspectives on how financial institutions can adapt their operations, products, and services to a digital-first economy while ensuring inclusion and stability.
The FIRS boss, who is one of the guest speakers at the event, is to shed light on how Nigeria can harness technology to strengthen tax administration and improve government revenues in the digital era.
