Minister Woos French Investors with Nigeria’s Pro-Business Reforms

The Federal Government will guarantee a favourable climate for foreign investment to thrive, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, assured yesterday.

He urged foreign investors to maintain an abiding interest in the country’s economy through the ongoing bold reforms.

They offer dynamic market potential, and investor-friendly environment for successful business operations, the minister noted. Idris emphasised Nigeria’s commitment to fostering deeper economic ties with France while speaking at the Nigeria Business Forum in Paris.

The event was organised by a group, ‘Business France,’ according to a statement by the minister’s media aide, Rabiu Ibrahim.

He expressed appreciation to long standing French partners operating in Nigeria, including TotalEnergies, Lafarge, Peugeot, Danone, Alstom, and Schneider Electric for their contributions across key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, and manufacturing.

The minister said under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria is undergoing an “unprecedented journey of reform,” driven by the Renewed Hope Agenda — an eight-point strategic plan aimed at unlocking the nation’s vast economic potential.
