Stakeholders in the aviation sector in Nigeria have charged the federal government to assist them in removing the “numerous charges” being experienced in the sector.
Addressing State House correspondents after a meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa, on Tuesday, Chief Executive Office of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, said the present administration is a listening one and will listen to their demands.
He also lamented that since the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, the aviation sector has been a “turbulent arena,” but added that the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, is doing a great job of repositioning the sector.
He said: “Aviation all over the world has been a turbulent arena after the COVID-19 pandemic because of the supply chain issues. This is not peculiar to Nigeria, but the Nigerian government is listening to us and making sure the ease of doing business in the sector is back.
“We are here to also thank the government because they have been giving us listening ears, and we want more of that, to make sure all those numerous charges we face are removed, and we have every confidence that the government will do something about it.”
